Casting Net: David Hyde Pierce Joins The Good Wife
Pierce will take on a major recurring role in Season 6.
In his first onscreen TV role in a decade, Frasier star David Hyde Pierce will join the cast of CBS's hit show The Good Wife.
The Emmy- and Tony-winning actor will play a highly respected cable news legal commentator who is so disgusted by the corruption and murder rate in Chicago that he decides to run for office.
The Good Wife is known for its all-star cast that features Julianna Margulies--who won her second Emmy for her role as Alicia Florrick on Monday--Christine Baranski, Archie Panjabi, Matt Czuchry, Alan Cumming, Matthew Goode, Makenzie Vega, and Zach Grenier.
"We couldn't be more thrilled and flattered that David's making The Good Wife his first TV role since Frasier," said executive producers-showrunners Robert and Michelle King. "We're tremendous fans of his dramatic skills as well as his comedy."
The Good Wife returns to CBS on September 21.
