Five weeks ago, E.J. Johnson, the flamboyant fan favorite of #RichKids of Beverly Hills, underwent gastric sleeve surgery to help him loose weight. He stopped by Entertainment Tonight earlier this week to debut his new bod.
"I feel amazing," exclaimed a beaming EJ during an interview with ET's Kevin Frazier. "I feel great."
Johnson, son of basketball legend Magic Johnson, claims that he's lost 50 pounds because of the surgery, for which doctors removed 80 percent of his stomach. His stomach is now about the size of a banana.
EJ told People that "[Weight] is something that I'e been struggling with for pretty much all my life" and that after several fad diets failed, he began to consider the surgery two years ago.
"Nothing was working, and I wanted to make a more permanent decision to get back on track," he explained. "[But] I wanted to wait until I was a little bit older to know how to handle myself afterwards."
During his ET segment, Johnson told Frazier that he consulted with Star Jones, who underwent the surgery over a decade ago, when he was making his decision.
"She told me that it was definitely a tool for a whole new life," said EJ "It was not something that was the easy way out by any means. This is not something that you do and then all of a sudden everything is gone and you're skinny and you're a new person. It's definitely a tool and something that you have to work at."

EJ says that his father was supportive of his choice to undergo the surgery. "He supports me in everything that I do," EJ said. "He's been one of my biggest cheerleaders." According to EJ, he now follows a healthy diet and exercises regularly. The budding fashion blogger added that he'd like to reach his goal weight within a year. "I'll just know when I look like what I want," he told People. He doesn't have a specific number in mind.
