Each year, the Queer/Art/Mentorship program selects a group of emerging creative folks to pair them with established queer artists for a year-long mentorship. The fellows develop community-wide conversations about what it means to have an artistic practice and they present work in New York and beyond (as the 2013-14 fellows did).
Meet the 10 fellows chosen this year in five artistic disciplines: Morgan Bassichis and Rebecca Patek (in Performance); Shannon Keating and Grey Vild (in Literary); Arisleyda Dilone, Luce Capco Lincoln, and Steven Wilsey (in Film); Samantha Nye and Maia Cruz Palileo (in Visual Arts); and Zachary Frater (in Curatorial).
The mentors they'll work with for the 2014-2015 fellowship year are Jibz Cameron and Caden Manson (in Performance); James Lecesnse and Stacy Szymaszek (in Literary); Thomas Allen Harris, Stacie Passon, and Yoruba Richen (in Film); Chitra Ganesh and Carrie Moyer (in Visual Arts); and Bradford Nordeen (in Curatorial).
Hopefully we'll be seeing more creative work generated by these dynamic partnerships, adding creative works to inspire another generation.
