U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Austria’s Conchita Wurst demand an end to discrimination based on sexual orientation.
According to the Associated Press, U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has teamed up with Conchita Wurst, the Eurovision 2014 champ, to take a stand against bias based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
The Secretary General told reporters that he will continue to fight "against transphobia and homophobia."
The wire report from Vienna also quotes Ban as saying "I stand strong for equality," and adding the words "we are unstoppable," a direct quote from the bearded drag queen's Eurovision victory speech.
Wurst said that she dreamt of "a future where we don't have to talk about sexual orientation or the color of your skin."
The Austrian diva sang her hit "Rise Like a Phoenix," the tune that won her the Eurovision prize.
