1. Japan's school uniforms are typically pretty divided across gender lines, so the Fuji Hokuryo school in Japan's Yamanashi Prefecture decided to allow its students a bit of leeway with what it's dubbed "Sex Change Day," a play on the terms "Sex" and "Exchange." On this special day, male and female students were allowed to trade uniforms. A voluntary event, 117 male students participated while 182 female students joined in, with coverage of the event even making the national news. [Kotaku]
2. Since Laurel Lance's first appearance on Arrow, fans have been wondering when she would finally suit up as her superhero counterpart, Black Canary. Wait no longer, because the first official images of Laurel in her Black Canary outfit have finally been released--and does that costume sing. [EW]
3. The Florida DMV has issued a warning to a same-sex couple that their driving privileges will be canceled indefinitely on November 22, citing their use of on out-of-state marriage license to change their names on their drivers' licenses. As the couple has already changed their names with Social Security and other organizations with no hassle, they feel they are being targeted by the DMV. [WFTV]
4. As of now, copyright holders can only leave their copyrights to their spouses if their marriage is recognized by the state in which they live when they pass away. Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont) is seeking to change this by introducing a bill to the Senate that will amend copyright protections to apply to all married couples, even if their marriage is not recognized in the state where they are living when the copyright holder dies.
