Fashion Police, E!'s red carpet fashion critic's panel helmed by the late Joan Rivers, will return this January and the network has not announced who will replace the comedy legend on the show. With no clear heir apparent, rumors circled that Kathy Griffin, Rivers' long time friend, would be her successor.
Griffin, who considered Rivers a mentor, said that E! has approached her about the job and that she and Rivers discussed the possibility of her taking the reins. "Ironically, she and I talked about it many times," Griffin told People. "She would joke that, no matter what, I should always get 10 percent less than she got."
The My Life on the D-List star is still mulling it over. "It's definitely something that I've put a lot of thought into," she says. "Obviously there is an emotional tie for me because Joan was such a good friend of mine, a close friend, truly a mentor - but also a legit friend. We talked about everything, and we joked about everything on the table, so it's something that I've been thinking about for a while and I think it's something they've been thinking about too."
The comedienne says that she's been on Fashion Police many times over. "I have been a fashion 'don't' for years!" says Griffin. "I used to actually laminate my 'What Was She Thinking?' pictures and put them on my refrigerator, but they then covered the entire wall. I am not afraid to be a 'do' or a 'don't.' We'll see what happens."
