WATCH: Ian McKellen & Harry Styles Cuddle

While it's not surprising that Harry Styles is a Lord of the Rings fan, it is somewhat out of left field to hear that Sir Ian McKellen is a One Direction fan. Last week, 1D and McKellen both went on the Graham Norton show and it turns out that they admire each others work. McKellen and the band had nearly met in New Zealand, when the band was touring and Sir Ian was film The Hobbit films, but it never came to be...Until now.

"You're amazing," said Styles with a gleeful, almost star struck look on his face. "So are you," replied a beaming McKellen. Sir Ian even wore his One Direction T-shirt for the occasion. Gandolf is a Directioner, who knew?
