Hologram USA announced today that it has reached an "historic partnership" with the Liberace Foundation for the Performing and Creative Arts to produce a full-scale, long-running hologram show featuring Liberace. That's right, the man who was all about the tactile pleasure of ostentation will be re-conceived as a transparent, shallow man tinkling the ivories.
As THR reports, most recent hologram projects have been short one-time appearances, but "this will be the first to use Hologram USA's patented technology to present a life-like experience for fans in a feature length, live show format."

This will be the same technology that created the famous Tupac Shakur Coachella hologram. "This is a major step in the evolution of this medium for entertainment," says Alki David, CEO of Hologram USA. "With our partners at the Liberace Foundation we'll be able to stage a show so lifelike--the room will be filled with all of the great singer's charm and charisma. The show will be staged in such a way that Liberace will be able to interact with the audience--the suspension of disbelief the performance will cause will leave fans certain he has come back."
Get the South Park episode ready. In a recent one titled, "#HappyHolograms," Hologram Michael Jackson escapes and Hologram Tupac has to assassinate him. We can only imagine what will happen when Liberace joins the fray.
