Bitches, it's Madonna's Early Christmas Gift
Stung by a leak of her demos that she described as "a form of terrorism," Madonna rushed out six official songs from her upcoming album, Rebel Heart, early this morning. The songs are available on iTunes, and include "Living for Love," "Unapologetic Bitch," "Ghostttown," "Illuminati," and "Bitch I'm Madonna," a collaboration with Nicki Minaj.
"I was hoping to release my new single "Living For Love," on Valentine's Day with the rest of the album coming in the spring," Madonna said in a statement. "I would prefer my fans to hear completed versions of some of the songs instead of the incomplete tracks that are circulating. Please consider these six songs as an early Christmas gift."
Last July, Diplo, one of at least four credited producers on the album (Avicii and Kanye West are among the others), said the new material would be "crazy-sounding," and that Madonna had been very receptive to pushing the envelope. "Living for Love," the lead single, may not fit that characterization, but it's a big anthemic House-influenced track, complete with gospel choir, that harks back to Vogue-era Madge. That can only be a good thing.
