Downton Abbey on MASTERPIECE premieres January 5 at 9/8c on PBS.
Although we've loved Downton Abbey, there hasn't been as many men to swoon over for the past three seasons, save resident bad boy, Thomas, played by Rob James-Collier. With the new season, we now have a whole new crop of gentlemen (some of them even suitors) as the series enters the Roaring '20s. Here are the five new men that we can't wait to watch.
Tom Cullen, Lord Gillingham
Tom Cullen -- star of everyone's favorite gay indie, Andrew Haigh's Weekend
Nigel Harman, Mr. Green
Although he'll be new to most American viewers, Harman has a loyal following for his recurring role on the BBC soap opera EastEnders. We already know there are some shocking storylines in store for the visiting valet. We'll just have to wait and see whether we end up liking him or wanting him thrown out with the rubbish.
Julian Ovenden, Charles Blake
Charles Blake and Lady Mary take an instant dislike to one another (he's checking up on the economic health of the big estates), but as we know from past situations, that doesn't mean they'll hate one another for long.
Gary Carr, Jack Ross
It's long been a white man's world, but now things are about to change in the '20s. Although the storyline is under tight wraps, we know that Jack Ross is an American jazz musician (who may have the hots for bad girl Lady Rose, played by Lily James). This is how Carr has described his character: "Jack has a maturity and a self confidence, and when he enters a room he knows all eyes are on him. He is not arrogant. He is very suave and cool. But when a foreign object or character enters an environment, there are bound to be a lot of questions. Jack finds himself faced with ignorance rather than prejudice."
Paul Giamatti, Harold Levinson
The American actor joins to play Cora's maverick, playboy brother (and son of Shirley MacLaine, natch). But it's all a bit of a tease, since we have to wait until the Season 4 finale until we get to see him join the crew.
