On Saturday, television handed out its first crop of awards during the Creative Arts Emmys in Los Angeles.

While the ceremony is, in large part, to celebrate technical merits on TV, a few acting categories were awarded as well. Among the winners were Uzo Aduba, Allison Janney, and Jane Lynch.

Aduba, who plays Crazy Eyes on Orange Is the New Black, picked up an award for Outstanding Guest Actress, beating out co-stars, Natasha Lyonne and Laverne Cox, who became the first transgender person in Emmy history to be nominated for an acting award.

On the dramatic side of acting, Janney won for her guest role on Masters of Sex, which is currently in the middle of its second season featuring Sarah Silverman as a lesbian lover.

Jane Lynch beat out Betty White and Tim Gunn for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program for her hosting duties on off-season's guilty pleasure, Hollywood Game Night.

Among the technical awards, The Normal Heart, Modern Family, and American Horror Story picked up several wins.

Special congratulations are in order for Bob's Burgers, which was named Outstanding Animated Program. (Our favorite TV mom would be proud.)
