When a boy with stars in his eyes moves from Hollywood to the Great White Way, it matters not how many awesome gigs you've had, but whether you've got "Broadway credits" on your resume.
So Micah McCain, who is smarter than the average triple threat (we don't know if he can dance, but he can: 1. sing, 2. act, and 3. deliver withering side-eye), decided to resolve the matter, with his new off-off-Broadway cabaret show, "Broadway Credits" on February 8 at 7pm at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre. So when he's asked if he has Broadway credits and says yes, it'll technically be true.
"Broadway Credits" was selected as a Critics Pick by Time Out New York magazine. It's hardly a wonder. McCain has appeared in [title of show] in the Los Angeles premiere, Caught (which earned an LA WEEKLY award nomination), and The Detour (nominated for a New York Innovative Theater award). As a comedian and host, McCain is a whip smart funnyman. And occasionally, he has been a whip smart funnywoman, as his (now on sabbatical) drag person Bridgette of Madison Country.
If you were on the Internet in 2011, chances are good you saw McCain's work in the viral video redub of Beauty and the Beast's Belle, called "Bonjour Girl" that has all the Disney animation, but with an extra helping of attitude.
The show is Saturday, February 8 at 7pm at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre, 61 Christopher Street at 7th Ave. New York, NY. To order tickets visit MicahMcCain.brownpapertickets.com. Tickets are $10 advance purchase, plus 2-drink minimum.
