With all the back and forth over the series in the last year, fans were left hopeful but still very unsure if popular and controversial teen drama series Euphoria would ever come back. Lead star Zendaya and her other cast members were asked repeatedly about the state of the show and still… no one knew. Well an announcement has finally been made, and Euphoria is OFFICIALLY coming back!
Francesca Orsi, executive VP of HBO programming and head of HBO drama series and films, told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement that she is "thrilled that we are ready to begin production on Euphoria in January."
"We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam (Levinson) and this incredible cast," she told THR. "We look forward to bringing this new season of Euphoria to life for the fans." And just like that, Euphoria season 3 sees the light of day!
There haven't been any solid details on the story of the characters yet. However, two things seem to be certain: There will be a time jump (meaning all of the characters will be out of high school) and the principal cast is returning, outside of Barbie Ferreira and the late Angus Cloud. We are overjoyed to finally see this announcement, but several questions remain… Is Rue going to answer for stealing that suitcase? Will Cassie still be in love with Nate? Will we ever see Jules and Rue together again?
Euphoria production begins January of 2025, so HOPEFULLY we get to see these characters again by the summer of 2025. It may be a year away, but if Zendaya is involved, it's always worth the wait!
