Out comedian Billy Eichner is set to host Stand Out: An LGBTQ+ Celebration, an upcoming comedy event taking place during Netflix Is a Joke: The Festival.
While working in the Judd Apatow-produced gay rom-com Bros, which is now scheduled for a September 2022 release, Eichner is taking the time to celebrate LGBTQ+ comedians during Netflix's latest comedy festival. As the host of Stand Out, Eichner will introduce headliners such as Wanda Sykes, Tig Notaro, Margaret Cho, Eddie Izzard, and Sandra Bernhard. The celebration will take place on Saturday, May 7 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
The Stand Out event will also feature RuPaul's Drag Race fan-favorites Trixie Mattel and Bob the Drag Queen alongside LGTBQ+ comics like Joel Kim Booster, Sam Jay, Patti Harrison, Matteo Lane, Fortune Feimster, and Solomon Georgio, to name a few. Netflix has described Stand Out as follows:
"A historic celebration and performance of the best in LGBTQ+ comedy. Legends, headliners, and emerging talent will perform at The Greek Theatre for an unforgettable queer stand-up event. You're not gonna wanna miss this iconic once in a lifetime event."
Wanda Sykes is also scheduled for a standalone show on April 30 and Margaret Cho is headlining her own set on May 6. Otherwise, the festival will include drag brunches featuring Race Chaser co-hosts Alaska and Willam.
Netflix Is a Joke: The Festival will take place from April 28 to May 8, 2022 in Los Angeles.
