The first Monday in May means it's time for the Met Gala. But as this year's first Monday is also Cinco de Mayo, Hornito's Tequila is also hosting its own Mex Gala, a "nationwide Cinco de Mayo celebration for all."
Cinco de Mayo celebrates Mexico's victory over France in the Battle of Puebla in 1862 and is perhaps the biggest Mexican holiday in the United States.
While the celebration is nationwide, people across the country can head to hornitosmexgalagiveaway.com to enter for a chance to win a Hornitos Mex Gala Venue Kit that includes a yellow, green, and blue "red" carpet, margarita glasses, a designer robe, slippers, coasters, and a recipe card, so they can host their own celebrations on the fifth.
The Studio and Abbott Elementary star Keyla Monterroso Mejia stars in a new video invitation, where she declares: "Yes, everyone, I'm going to the gala. The Hornitos Mex Gala."
"Everyone is invited, because the Hornitos Mex Gala is happening everywhere and anywhere," she continues. "All you need is a bottle of Hornitos, a friend or two, and bam, you're in!"
Hornitos enthusiasts in New York City can now RSVP for the official Hornitos Mex Gala taking place on Monday, May 5 at the Supply House from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The event will feature a red carpet, a step and repeat, free margaritas, amazing Mexican food, and a dance floor with a DJ.
