Think less beach bod, more dad bod.
So what you don't have abs for days or a jawline carved from marble: None of that matters, at least according to the shorts brand, Chubbies, which launched a casting call to real men, dad bods, and all of the above for its next ad campaign.
In their first-ever campaign, the brand's founders had cast a friend who didn't meet the conventional standards of current fashion models, but rather embodied the all-embracing qualities of their product.
One of them, Tom Montgomery, told Mic:
"It got us thinking, wow, our customer base is just full of some of the most awesome and some of the most relatable and aspirational people that we know. Why shouldn't these guys be the models in our campaign?"
The contest is open to all men, in hopes of finding 10 of the most anti-model types possible. The idea is for Chubbies to fulfill their own version of the Victoria's Secret Angels, dubbed the 'Chub n' Dales.'
The winners will get a two-year contract, and a lifetime supply of Chubbies.
