Alber Elbaz, formerly Lanvin's head of womenswear, isn't in a rush to talk fashion. Until he announces his next textile venture, the bespectacled designer is staying busy in the fragrance department: Elbaz has teamed up with fine French perfumer Frederic Malle on a new perfume, due out next year.
The announcement was made during Elbaz's induction as officer in the Legion d'Honneur, one of the France's highest cultural honors, in Paris:
The scent, named Superstitious, was created over the past year in collaboration with nose Dominique Ropion. It will be the 24th Frederic Malle fragrance, but only the second fragrance made with a fashion designer -- the first was a gorgeous sandalwood by Dries Van Noten, in 2013.
Superstitious is due out in March 2017.
