Gucci Just Got Personal

Gucci Gets Personal

It's Gucci...your way.

Courtesy of Gucci.

It took just two years, a few snaps, and celebrity endorsements from Beyonce and Jared Leto for Alessandro Michele, the new creative director of Gucci, to make the fabled Italian brand cooler than ever. Key to Michele's aesthetic is his more-is-more approach to embellishment: His runway shows have featured embroidered patches and cutesy bees, tigers, and snakes galore. Now Gucci fans can curate their own wild assortment of motifs, buttons, and monograms and affix them to everything from leather perfecto jackets and horsebit loafers to tailored tuxedos and cashmere knitwear. Launched during the latest Milan Fashion Week at its flagship on Via Montenapoleone, the label's "Gucci DIY (Do It Yourself)" service is expanding to stores in New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago. So choose your colors, choose your materials, and choose the deserving recipient of the Best Christmas Gift Ever. (Hopefully, you.)
