In just four seasons, creative director Michael Maccari has raised the profile of the Perry Ellis brand and turned it into one of the most anticipated moments of Fashion Week. For next fall, he sees the Perry man embracing color even further: "I've always kind of been inspired by the colors of ship containers," Maccari says. "When you think about the process of shipping and receiving goods, and when you see that people now turn them into homes, it started making sense. We made the lining of jackets with a pulled back photo of containers, and that was the starting point for the color palette. I wanted it to be seasonless, a bit lighter and softer."
Another source of inspiration was the brand's vintage ads, where Maccari found cues for the layering and relaxed vibe of this season's clothes. The result is effortlessly elegant, channeling the personal style and sophistication of the late Perry Ellis. Click through to see the full collection.
