New documentary The First Monday in May sheds light on the most important night in fashion
Clearly Anna Wintour wasn't going to let Grace Coddington steal her spotlight for ever. Forget The September Issue, fashion's new hottest documentary is out this weekend.
For the first time ever, The First Monday in May will show the behind-the-scenes of the annual Met Gala. Known as the hottest party in fashion, this high-fashion ball is co-curated by Vogue's Wintour (who gave her name to the museum's costume institute) and the Met's Andrew Bolton, featured in Out's 2013 Tastemakers issue, and also happens to be designer Thom Browne's romantic partner.
Each year, the Met Gala brings the most glamorous celebrities to fete the coupling of fashion and art, with a theme in keeping with the museum's current fashion exhibition. The new docu, out in theaters Friday April 15, follows the making of 2015's "China: Through The Looking Glass" event. Watch the trailer, below:
