After noted collaborations with designers Siki Im and Dries Van Noten, illustrator and fashion industry darling Richard Haines was tapped by leathergoods brand Moore & Giles to create new prints on limited-edition bags and small accessories.
The artist came up with a series of characters to adorn a selection of fine weekenders, wallets, and portfolios, which are available in two colorways, and limited to only 25 pieces for each style.
His illustrations are various interpretations of the ideal Moore & Giles man and what he dreamed of one day becoming as a kid --there's an astronaut, a scientist, a cowboy, a rock star, a superhero, and a firefighter, to name a few.
The exclusiveness of the collection stems from Moore & Giles's high-class tradition. The Virginia-based company is best known for supplying the majority of the leather used on private jets. For this project, Haines's sketches were transfered from paper to the leather via a laser etching technology, to make sure his beautiful lines stay true to form.
The result is simply chic, and makes us wish Haines would start his own monogram brand. Until that happens, keep an eye on this caspule collection, which is available for pre-order now and will be released in stores in September.
