There's a problem with the current athleisure trend: All those fashion-forward gym garbs may certainly look cool, but they're not the most comfortable to do your lunges in. That's about to change. The new collaboration between A.P.C. and NYC-based sportswear brand Outdoor Voices launches this week with a number of gorgeous pieces. The gender-neutral silhouettes come in a cool palette of neutrals shades and understated prints. The best part? Both labels emphasize that their design ethos starts with finding the right fabrics, so there won't be any chafing, or overheating, or feeling too naked here.
Outdoor Voices' 27-year-old CEO Tyler Haney worked directly with textile mills to find the optimal materials for a body in motion. This includes double-woven stretch crepe that wicks away sweat as it protects you from the elements, regulates body temperature, and stretches to adopt your curves -- so you can show off those glutes you've been working on so hard.
Most of the collection is inspired by favorites from Outdoor Voices previous collections -- that includes running pants (above) so well tailored they're neither joggers nor sweatpants, as well as lightweight jackets, shorts, and hats. Our favorite part, though, it their take on camo, which is simplified to avoid any "hunting season" vibes. Exhibit A: This adorable baseball cap.
