A new movie about the close, sometimes terse relationship between fashion designer Lee Alexander McQueen and editor Isabella Blow is in the making, Variety reports.
The upcoming drama, entitled The Ripper, will document their famous friendship and its tragic end.
Blow was known for her unusual looks, headwear, and distinct eye. She served as McQueen's muse until her untimely death, in 2007. She's often credited for discovering the designer and bringing him to the forefront of international fashion.
Blow lent her talents to Vogue, was style editor of London's Sunday Times, and fashion editor of Tatler. Hat designer Phillip Tracy loved to plop his wacky creations on her head.
McQueen is considered of the great designers of all time. Before his passing, in 2010, he had been named British Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards and earned a slew of other accolades, including a retrospective at the Met dedicated to his legacy.
Blow committed suicide, in 2007. Three years later, McQueen was found hanged in his London apartment. It's been said that the death of his friend deeply affected the designer.
The Ripper is written by Gesha-Marie Bland and produced by Maven. The release date has yet to be announced.
