The R&B queen surprises fans with a Marie-Antoinette-inspired collection for Puma
The regal Hotel Salomon de Rothschild played host to the debut of Rihanna's second clothing line for Fenty x Puma at Paris Fashion Week.
According to RiRi herself, her collection was inspired by Marie-Antoinette, and said the clothes were made as "if Marie Antoinette was going to the gym and needed something to wear." Certainly, the pearl necklaces, corsets, and ruffles that adorned Rihanna's pieces evoked images of years past, when French courtiers waited on the queen in luxurious hand-made garments, and socializing in the gardens of Versailles was the order of the day.

Rihanna wanted to bring her audience back in time, and so she did, recalling Christian Dior's old shows, when the late designer would showcase his collection in a small room to a limited audience.
RiRi visibly followed his path, emulating the atmosphere of one of Marie-Antoinette's legendary salons for her candy-colored sophomore collection. Featuring modeling starlets Imaan Hammam, Gigi Hadid, and her sister Bella (as well as their younger sibling Anwar), the show was star-studded and nongender-specific.
