In fashion, "diversity" is often a meaningless buzzword tossed around every few seasons when models of color are restricted to one or two appearances on the runway and hunching in the corner of a few ad campaigns.
While smaller brands are leading the way with runways and campaigns that embrace all colors, shapes, types, and genders, the legendary houses (Givenchy being the perennial exception) have been slow to catch up.

Gucci took a catwalk step in the right direction with a series of recently released audition videos for their pre-fall 2017 campaign featuring black and brown models discussing their spirit animals and busting their respective moves:
It's great to see all these hair stories alone, and nice to be reminded that even with the world threatening to become a more dangerously homogenous place, some are still working to promote diversity.
