In their latest holiday campaign "Human-Up," makeup brand Illamasqua has created a genderless makeup line. Munroe Bergdorf, a transgender model, and Rain Dove, a gender fluid model and activist, are just two names at the forefront of the campaign in a newly released video.
"It's not about being a girl and it's not about being a boy," the campaign promotes. "Forget the biology. It's about being free to explore your individuality, celebrating who you are today, and who we all want to be tomorrow."
Known for their cruelty free, vegan makeup and the S.O.P.H.I.E Foundation (Stamp Out Prejudice, Hatred and Intolerance Everywhere), Illamasqua is offering a glimpse into the genderless makeup industry that could be. The campaign video showcases Bergdorf and Dove, in addition to models Vicky Rose and Emmanuel, modeling the company's genderless products and "celebrating without chromosomes."

Bergdorf, who was once L'Oreal's first transgender spokeswoman, and Dove spoke further about the campaign in a blog post on the company's website.
Bergdorf wrote, "People are obsessed with gender because is all that we know, it's what is drilled into us at an early age. So once we start to let go of that, why can't we challenge all of these things we're told? They don't matter. Once we start putting less importance on gender, we can start having fun with it, and it just becomes a lot more freeing."
Dove furthered, "When people try to make others live a certain lifestyle just because they're born with a specific genitalia and assigning them with duties and obligations, even sexpectations; it's dangerous and it's limiting. It's not the label, it's the limitation."
