Shimon and Ariel Ovadia's menswear brand has become known for updating streetwear essentials by drawing from personal narratives. "We were influenced by our father's time in the Israeli army as a professional soccer player," the designers said of their fall '17 collection. "Going to the army in Israel is mandatory and our father was in the army during the day and a professional soccer player by night. We always design things that are a part of us but this was more personal."
The inspiration was evident in the collection's most literal piece: a yellow soccer jersey emblazoned with Hebrew font. There was an Eastern European quality to the collection, expressed in velvet tracksuits and fur-trimmed hooded jackets. Ovadia & Sons utilized just the right amount of extravagance from a culture known for its ostentatious flare.
This season's looks were rounded out with grooming products from Lab Series. Global ambassador and grooming expert Jodie Boland used the Pro LS All-In-One Face Cleansing Gel and the All-In-One Face Hydrating Gel (launching in March) to achieve a glistening effect with gorgeous, hydrated skin. "The look for Ovadia & Sons is sort of that flushed clean, as if you've been running," Boland said of the look. "So the inspiration was that flushed, cool looking but fresh skin, which is great for Lab Series."
