How man's must-have accessory is being updated under Raf Simons.
In the early 1980s, Calvin Klein began reshaping the way we think about underwear. As it rolled out its sexy, now iconic ad campaigns over the next two decades, our unmentionables transformed from a modest necessity into a must-have accessory--one meant to be shown off and celebrated. Today, Calvin Klein is synonymous with the men's white brief, which, thanks to the brand's recently appointed creative director, Raf Simons, is enjoying yet another reinvention. Simons's fall underwear line has preserved the basic look and feel of the briefs and trunks you've come to love (think high-quality cotton, classic silhouettes), but he's put the label's new moniker, Calvin Klein 205W39NYC (the address of its New York headquarters) front and center on the pieces' high waistbands. No, it's not exactly breaking the mold--but it is holding it proudly and stylishly in place.
