"It represents more of who she is inside as opposed to her public persona," Tamez told the Daily Beast, speaking about her iconic Joanne accessory. "The hat is central in a symbolic sense to who this new Lady Gaga is." The milliner added that Gaga wrote some of her fifth studio album in the bathtub, while wearing the pastel pink cowboy hat. "You need to be super-confident to wear hats, and they play a role in shaping personalities," she said.
