R.Swiader Spring 2019
On the heels of New York-based menswear designer R.Swiader's "Pines" collection, the queer designer just released the imagery for his gorgeous spring 2019 collection.
The inspiration behind the line? He says:
'Spring 2019 is very relaxed with elements of slouchy tailoring as I continue with the idea of injecting ease into our every day dressing. I start each collection thinking about what I would personally like to wear, what makes me feel good and what is functional with my lifestyle. For Spring 2019 I wanted to celebrate being back in NYC and spending a lot of time between Bushwick where I live and downtown where my husband and I opened a shop, Mott NYC (located at 169 Mott Street). I wanted to make a collection of non traditional classics where gender does not matter and anyone can wear the clothes. I love the idea of wearing something that will give you enough ease to bike over the bridge, work all day in the office, eat at your favorite restaurant and end the day by dancing the night away all in one outfit that will always be appropriate and make you feel and look chic. I enjoy the idea of a uniform or even better one piece dressing.
The SS19 tee shirt graphics are a collaboration with my husband John Arsenault who is an art photographer represented by ClampArt Gallery NYC. I chose 5 images for graphics and then took details of each image and made icons which were embroidered on muscle tee's and sweatshirts. We are also launching our new hoodies and since the landscape of fashion is changing we are not going to wait till next year and we are making them available as soon as this Fall!'
