Adidas

The sneaker brand has released a limited edition product inspired by the tennis pro.

Billie Jean King has gone down as a champion for women and queer people in sports. Her 1973 win against Bobby Riggs in the "battle of the sexes" was a victory for equality.

Adidas celebrates that victory with a new line of limited-edition sneakers. Inspired by the blue Adidas sneakers King wore during the historic match, the Speedfactory AM4BJK Shoes are built with responsive boost cushioning and a glueless fused bonding. It's also imbedded with an NFC chip in the tongue, providing authentication and a unique digital experience.

The limited-edition sneaker is part of an initiative with Adidas to empower young women in sports. Starting August 27, 300 pairs will be available at Adidas, retailing for $200.
