Sasha Velour Teams Up with Opening Ceremony for NYFW Drag Spectacular

What could make New York Fashion Week more sickening? A show curated by a RuPaul's Drag Racestar might do the trick.

Season nine winner, Sasha Velour recently posted a photo to Instagram, announcing her upcoming collaboration with Opening Ceremony. According the Velour, The Gift of Showz will debut Opening Ceremony's Spring 2019 collection with a celebration of the art and fashion of drag. She's teaming up with Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, as well as some special guests for content that will be unveiled soon.

This is just the most recent of Opening Ceremony's out-of-the box ideas. Earlier this year, they held the first-ever fashion show at Disneyland (complete with Minnie Mouse hitting the runway). They've also been inspired by the 2016 election, holding a democratic fashion week party leading up, as well as a resistance ballet afterward.

Sasha Velour's The Gift of Shows takes place Sunday, September 9 at 8pm.
