Sasha Velour Throws a NYFW Drag Spectacular for Opening Ceremony

This New York Fashion Week has been particularly queer. Marco Marco made history with the first runway show featuring only trans models. And Opening Ceremony's presentation was a drag spectacular.

Hosted by RuPaul's Drag Raceseason nine winner, Sasha Velour, the cast of performers featured some of her Drag Race sisters, including Shea Coulee, Miss Fame, and Jiggly Caliente. But the piece de resistance had to be an appearance from Christina Aguilera. In attendance at the Poisson Rouge show were Nicki Minaj, Troye Sivan, Kim Petras, Awkwafina, Whoopi Goldberg, Baz Luhrmann, Rosario Dawson, Kelly Rowland, and Alia Shawkat.

The show debuted Opening Ceremony's Spring 2019 collection, including collaborations with Columbia, LACOSTE L!VE, Buffalo London, Fluevog and Gitman Bros. It was followed by a raffle that benefited Transgender Law Center.
