The Cast of Pose Made the Met Gala Their Binch
How did the ladies of Pose look tonight on the Met Gala's red carpet? In a word: stunning! In 40 words, talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show-stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender -- you get the picture! Stunning!
Mj. Rodriguez, Indya Moore, and Dominique Jackson -- who star as Blanca, Angel, and Elektra, respectively, on the Janet Mock-produced FX ballroom drama -- arrived at the Costume Institute's annual fundraiser gala in the three very distinct interpretations of the 2019 Met Gala's "Camp" theme, itself inspired by Susan Sontag's seminal 1964 essay "Notes on Camp."
Jackson's ensemblllllllllle calls to mind all of the drama and the intrigue of camp icons past, and the billowing, ruffled plume of white fabric wrapping around her neck and waist almost seems to form a capital "S." Doesn't stand for Sontag? Probably not but perhaps it does!

Rodriguez, on the other hand, went a little more kitschy with her leopard print skirt, looking like an Audrey Hepburn girl in a Peg Bundy world.

Moore, meanwhile, pulled out a slinky little gold number with an assymetrical fascinator covering part of her face and a big, thick braid that went all the way down to there...and then all the way back up again thanks to a ring at the end that she could grab on to.
