Katy Perry, famous LGBTQ+ ally, has once again given a gift to The Gays. This time, it's with a wonderful, glittery Pride flag heel called... The Sissy? Wait, what?

Is Katy Perry calling me a sissy? Is she negging me? Is it working? They would be cute heels to wear to Pride or a gay bar, and there are endless "Sissy Walk" jokes to make, so, I guess I kind of want them.
Queer Twitter was understandably shocked, asking the singer to clarify why she'd name a Pride shoe after a term that's used to hurt many in our community. But this time, things weren't all about us.

The answer to this strange, strange riddle is actually much less gay. The Sissy is the name for a style of pump in Perry's collection, no matter what color it comes in.. It was actually named for her sister. Sissy like Sis-sy, as in Sister, get it?
In a clip from Kapwing, the singer explains. "It's called The Sissy not because you become a sissy if you wear it," she said,.
Thanks for saying I won't be a sissy if wear this shoe, but if I did buy it, looking like a sissy is exactly what I'd be going for.
Unfortunately, the heel only goes up to a size 11 and is much too small for a lot of trans women and gay men, both people who would wear a shoe like this and people who have the most experience being called a sissy. Maybe it should be called the Cissy instead.
