There was a time where possession of homosexual imagery was illegal; a time when transporting it across state lines or in the mail could get you imprisoned. So, to get around this many resorted to the "beefcake" genre, staring at and fantasizing over-muscled Adonises as a form of gratification. Of some of the most celebrated: Bob Mizer. You probably know his name based on the success of his self-published Physique Pictorial. Now, Mizer's foundation has a multipart collaboration, wet to fill your life with sunbathing sailors, cowboys, and a few vintage portraits.
Launched initially in July 2019, the collaboration between Beverly Hills Cowboy and the Bob Mizer Foundation is being made under the creative direction of Estaban Prado. It comprises t-shirts, underwear, sweatshirts, mugs, and throw rugs pulling photographs from the Bondage, Shower, Adonis, Sailor, Cowboy, and Surfer series. The pieces, with prices that range from $22 to $130 let fans integrate a little part of gay history into their daily lives.
