Red carpet or not, he came to give us fashion.Â
One fun part of watching Daniel Levy's ascent has been watching his style choices. As has been made abundantly clear: he was incredibly involved with the fashion department of Schitt's Creek. In fact many of David rose's looks were pulled from Levy's own closet. For Saturday Night Live, he turned out the duds wearing a suit from Celine in his opening monologue but opting for other designers like J.W. Anderson and Loewe for the promotional images. He's also developed a close working relationship with designers like Thom Browne. And even though the Golden Globes don't have a proper red carpet this year, that doesn't mean it deprived us of a look.
Styled by Erica Cloud, Levy appeared in this "virtual" red carpet wearing Valentino's Spring 2021 couture collection. It's a full look, head to toe with the creepers included. Levy has never been afraid to play around with fashion whether in terms of silhouette or color and this zesty yellow stays within this.
\u201cWe think that @danjlevy's #GoldenGlobes look tonight deserves to be celebrated. Seriously, we can't wait for this Schitt to hit the fans.\u201d— Golden Globe Awards (@Golden Globe Awards) 1614556042
"There's been something fun about dressing up at home--maybe it's because I've spent so much of the year in sweatpants," Levy told Vogue, who premiered the look. "Either way, I've really enjoyed having an excuse to put on something shiny, if only for myself and my computer screen." The actor and writer went on to say that he would be choosing "clothes that mean something," for the rest of the awards show run.
