Watch Hunter Schafer, Dominique Jackson Destroy Mugler Runway Show

Hunter Schaefer and Dominique Jackson for Mugler

Shout out to the icons.

If you were waiting to see mother Elektra, we're getting a little tidbit right now.

Pose might not come back until May, but Dominique Jackson is already back in the spotlight. Before she built an audience on television, Jackson made her name within the ballroom community. She became an icon and a Hall of Famer after a legacy of winning at both the runway and face categories. What I'm trying to get at here is that she's been training for this moment on the Mugler runway for years.

With the ongoing pandemic, Mugler debuted its latest collection in a video. For the Spring/Summer 2021 part 02 collection, creative director Casey Cadwallader put on a dramatic version of a runway show in a short video. It is mostly filled with models moving in reverse, remixing and editing the footage with interesting lighting. Among the cast: Hunter Schafer who started as a model but is now known for her leading role in Euphoria. Other stars like Irina Shayk, Bella Hadid, Soo Joo Park, Alek Wek, and Aida Blue also were cast. But we're truly here to talk about Ms. Jackson.

Known as Tyra Allure Ross Margiela, the icon was thrown a blazer mid-runway and puts it on, never walking a step during one of her camera passes. The talent that has, the intelligence that has, the clarity that has. This is what it means to be a professional.

This of course isn't the first time the fashion brand Mugler has worked with the ballroom community. In the past, ChaChou Miyake-Mugler and Kendall Miyake-Mugler, both members of the scene in Paris, appeared in the Mugler Resort 2020 lookbook.

In addition to those cast on the runway, Cadwallader included the likes of ShyGirl, Taskforce, Kingdom, and Ms. Boogie on the soundtrack. This all comes on Trans Day of Visiblity.
