Ever since Amanda Lepore made a splash in the late 1980s as a member of the New York City-based Club Kids, she's become the muse for photographer David LaChapelle and the herstoric brand Heatherette, as well as lending her visage to companies like Swatch and MAC Cosmetics.
Now, we get to wear the self-proclaimed "Most Expensive Body on Earth" on our own bodies, thanks to the new collection Patrick Church Loves Amanda Lepore.
Most known for his signature hand-painted graphic prints, often of crying faces and disembodied figures, the designer, artist, and 2020 Out 100 honoree has teamed up with the nightlife icon on a capsule collection of bodysuits, pajamas, swimwear, and, in his first foray into home decor, lip-shaped pillows.
Stemming from Church's original artworks, the range features three different prints of Lepore, who he started painting during high school in England before he moved to New York.
"I met her and I just couldn't believe she was just the epitome of glamour, and so dedicated to beauty. I felt like she reminded me so much of some of my paintings," he tells Out. "It's a celebration of Amanda and New York, and it feels like a poignant moment for me."
