"There's a W in there?!?!"
Loewe is one of the oldest luxury fashion houses in the world, but despite that, there's still plenty of folks out there who still aren't sure how to say it's name properly. (Hint: yes, there is a 'w' in there, but it's pronounced 'lo-ay-vay.')
But thanks to a new comedy short from the house — starring two of our favorite queer celebs, Good Grief and Schitt's Creek mastermind Dan Levy and The White Lotus' Aubrey Plaza — there is no need for any more confusion!
Entitled Decades of Confusion, the comedy short (which was written by Levy and directed by Ally Pankiw) serves as a visual history lesson and a look book of some of Loewe's most iconic pieces over the past 53 years.
Starting in 1971 and running all the way through present day 2024, the film stars Plaza as spelling bee contestant who can't seem to quite nail down the correct spelling of "Loewe." Each decade, she and the moderator (Levy) are sporting looks from the Loewe archive, and the whole film is equal parts chic and hilarious.
"Are you hitting on me?" a big-haired, '80s Plaza asks a mustachioed Levy in the film.
"No I'm not, I'm gay as a maypole," he says back to her.

"Jonathan Anderson and I are very good friends," modern-day Plaza says at another point in the short, name-dropping the brand's longtime creative director while proudly rocking a Loewe Squeeze Bag on her shoulder. "He's my dear friend, I call him Ja-Ja."
"I highly doubt that," Levy replies skeptically. "Now you're just saying things."
This is isn't the first time the queer comedy geniuses have teamed up.
The two were co-stars in the beloved 2020 romantic-comedy Happiest Season, which starred Loves Lies Bleeding's Kristen Stewart and Black Mirror's Mackenzie Davis as a young queer couple trying to navigate spending the holidays with family.
If Happiest Season and Decades of Confusion is anything to go by, then Levy and Plaza need to work together wayyyyy more!!
