Meet the bearded muscle daddy who designs the pope's beautiful clothes

Instagram (@filippo_sorcinelli)
If you've been paying attention to international news, you've probably heard about how Pope Francis has reportedly used (on multiple occasions) an Italian homophobic slur while talking about priests.
According to Italian news org ANSA, the Pope has now twice used the word "frociaggine," an Italian slur that roughly translates to "faginess."
The first time was in late May, when the Pope used the term in a closed-door meeting with Italian bishops on the issue of allowing gay men to become priests. The Vatican apologized for the incident, with one reporter suggesting that it might have been a gaffe, as the Pope is Argentinian, and not a native Italian speaker.
However, reports now say the Pope has used the term a second time in another closed-door meeting, just two weeks after the first reported incident. Again, he was talking about welcoming gay men into the church, but saying they shouldn't be welcome in seminaries, where they might make it "too gay."But now, as X (formerly Twitter) user Dean Tāne has pointed out, maybe the Pope should pay attention to the diamond-encrusted plank in his own eye!
"Sorry, you can't complain about the gays infiltrating the Vatican when this is the guy who currently designs all your papal vestments," Tāne wrote in a post on X, sharing pictures of Filippo Sorcinelli, an Italian perfumer and designer who has designed and created "sacred vestments, furnishing, and accessories for the sacred liturgy" for both Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis.
Sorcinelli is a brilliant designer, artist, and creator, but he's something else we love: a sexy bearded muscle daddy covered in intricate tattoos!
Sorcinelli founded LAVS Atelier in 2001 for his work on creating vestments for the Vatican and still works closely with The Office of Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff. According to a recent news video, he's made over 20 garments for Pope Francis, and made more than 50 for the late Pope Benedict.
His Instagram account is filled with shirtless pictures, images showing off the male body, and lots of feet pics.
Sorcinelli's work has a very distinct queer style/aesthetic that involves muscles, BDSM, tattoos, leather, and sex. If the Pope wants to get rid of "faggotry" in the Vatican, choosing this designer is certainly an odd choice!
