Hot people can't win in 2024!

Looks like no good deed (or hot model) will go unpunished at this year's annual Met Gala...

During last year's fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City, a greeter for the event went viral on the internet for... well... being super hot.

In 2023, Italian model Eugenio Casnighi stepped onto the Met Gala carpet just as he did the year before. This time, though, he was taken for a loop when he became a viral sensation, almost stealing the spotlight from Kylie Jenner on the carpet...

But if you were expecting to see Eugenio's hunky self on the Met Gala red carpet this year, you're sadly out of luck!

The model has taken to his TikTok to announce he will no longer be working the 2024 Met Gala.

"So I've never talked about this because I was under an NDA," he says in his TikTok post that, at the time of writing, has over 500,000 likes. "It's funny enough they fired me so I can say whatever I want now."

"They fired me because I went viral last year," the model greeter alleges. "So basically they said, 'You made it about yourself. So we can't have you work there anymore.'"

The model said he was booked to work this year's Met Gala over a month ago, however, he was told the Friday before the event that he was no longer on the job.

"They literally told me, 'We picked you because we liked you more than other people to be with this celebrity.' But when people took pictures of the actual celebrity... and I was next to her, of course I ended up in the picture. And they blamed me," he continued.

Eugenio went on to say that he felt as if he was blamed for the media attention, even though he had nothing to do with it. ""Basically they said, 'You made it about yourself, so we can't have you work there anymore. I'm sorry,'" he said.

There has been no comment from the hiring company or Met Gala associates. Eugenio made two follow-up videos saying it was possible the event chose not to work with models this year, overall, upon finding out he was not the only one who didn't get the job.
