Raja, the supreme fashion queen of RuPaul's Drag Race, opened up her closet and gave us the rare opportunity to look inside. How could we resist?!
This new Out of the Closet episode — premiering exclusively on Out — shows Raja walking around her fabulous Los Angeles home while she discusses upcycling, buying cheap items from Target, keeping clothes from dead people, and jotting down ideas in her journal as a habit.
Raja highlights several iconic pieces inside her closet. From her original run on Drag Race season 3, Raja shows us as the Carrie-inspired look she wore in a comedy challenge, her jacket from the punk-rock singing challenge, and the chains from her crowning look at the grand finale.
Raja also pulled out some memorable pieces she wore on All Stars 7, a.k.a. the all-winners season, like her dazzling entrance look from episode 1, the base fabric for her outfit in the "What Lies Beneath" runway, and a purple hat worn in the werk room.

During this episode of Out of the Closet, Raja also reflects on her long-standing connection to RuPaul — showing us pieces of clothing that used to belong to Mama Ru but have been inside Raja's closet for many years now.
In fact, Raja shares the insane story of how she accidentally found the robe worn by RuPaul in the music video for "Supermodel (You Better Work)" while randomly shopping at a thrift store in Williamsburg called Junk.
Raja notes how the robe was "a lot more fluffy" back when Ru wore it in the music video. 40 years later, however, "the fluff around the neck is a lot more compact," she says. The gag of it all? This iconic robe only cost $40 for Raja to purchase it.

Raja also talks about her fascination for shoes and hats, showing viewers a boot that she "probably can't wear anymore" but still enjoys to look at.
Ultimately, Raja describes herself as a "maximalist" and defines that concept as "a hoarder with glamorous tendencies." The Drag Race winner remarks on how she always wanted a "play space" like her closet, and that she considers herself lucky to have it.
At this point in her career, this closet also serves as an archive of legendary outfits that she's known for — and considering that we're talking about Raja, that's a LOT of legendary lewks.
Besides Raja, this eighth season of Out of the Closet features an iconic lineup of RuPaul's Drag Race winners like Chad Michaels, Jimbo, Kylie Sonique Love, Sasha Velour, and Symone. Needless to say, we can't wait to see all the looks that these divas will be pulling out!
Out of the Closet drops new episodes every Monday on the official YouTube channel for RuPaul's Drag Race.
