Host Alan Cumming got cagey with help from stylist Sam Spector.

Beware: The Traitors spoilers ahead.

The following article is part of a weekly series, What Alan Wore, which asks stylist Sam Spector to break down the standout episodic looks of host Alan Cumming.

Peacock launched a three-episode premiere of The Traitors season 3 last week, revealing the queerest cast yet for the Peacock reality competition (Bob the Drag Queen has made waves as a Traitor already) as well as a few twists and turns.

The big surprise is the addition of three contestants not included in the initial shuttle run to the Scottish castle, where competitors try to suss out the Traitors in their midst for a cash prize: Boston Rob (Survivor), Derrick Levasseur (Big Brother), and Wes Bergmann (The Challenge). In true Traitors fashion, the three reality bros are dramatically introduced to the cast via suspended cages — and breaking them free of their confines (and currying favor in the process) is the kickoff mission in episode 2.

In addition to twists, host (and Out100 honoree) Alan Cumming often steals each scene with wicked wit and fashion. The Emmy winner assembled them with the help of stylist of Sam Spector, a former Out fashion editor, who shares his inspiration for Cumming's yellow-and-black tartan outfit for the cage challenge.

"For this look, I enlisted the brilliant Scottish designer Siobhan Mackenzie (@siobhan_mackenzie)," Spector reveals. "The outfit was inspired by the mission portion of the episode where extra players were hanging from covered cages and revealed as a surprise twist to the existing players."

"I wanted Alan to be wearing a cage, and with Siobhan's genius, we created an overlay for the petticoat with crystals and feathers," he adds. "She also brilliantly hand bejeweled the tartan and created a custom corset top with amazing details. We loved the play on femme on bottom and masc on top with the shirt and tie mixed with traditionally feminine garments."

Cumming is not the only figure on The Traitors to wear Mackenzie this season. Tom Sandoval (Vanderpump Rules) also sported a kilted ensemble from the Scottish designer.
