The competition was fierce, but the inaugural LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize has a winner.
On Wednesday morning, Canadian women's designer Thomas Tait was announced as the recipient of a EUR300,000 grant (approximately $409,270), plus a year of mentorship within a brand of the LVMH group.
A graduate of the prestigious Central Saint Martins college, Thomas Tait was set on studying law until he received his fashion calling. Tait was awarded the LVMH prize from an all-star designer jury, beating to the punch two of our favorite menswear designers, Hood by Air's Shayne Oliver, and Tim Coppens. Both are still up for CFDA award on June 2, so let's keep our fingers crossed.
