Fashion designer Michael Bastian pretty much travels all of the time, whether for work, play, or some hybrid of the two. But just because he's on the road (or in the air) doesn't mean he pulls out his favorite sweatpants and college hoodie. "You have to be comfortable," he says, "but you have to dress up a tiny bit. A lot of people I know have met their partners on a plane or on a bus."
So what's in Bastian's stylish weekender bag? The dapper gent packs a lightweight military jacket to fight unexpected chills, a Yankees cap (New York pride wherever he goes...), and a couple button-downs for any dinner occasion. He also presses the importance of a few different bathing suits, a pair of sandals, and a navy cashmere sweater that you should "never leave the house [without]." Lastly, of course, a good book -- in this case, David Sedaris, the master author of the summer-read.
Watch the complete video on HiltonGoOut to find out how Bastian fights jet lag (a combination of running and a steam room session) and about his favorite childhood vacation memory. Happy traveling!
