For the fourth consecutive year, Eastpak has teamed up with a selection of 16 fashion designers to create one-of-a-kind backpacks for World AIDS Day.
For the Eastpak Artist Studio initiative, each designer was given free reins to transform a blank backpack and turn it into an anything-goes work of art. Menswear favorites Tim Coppens and Walter Van Beirendonck took up the challenge, as well as industry veterans Manolo Blanik and Jean Paul Gaultier (whose backpack incorporates a complete bomber jacket!) and up-and-coming talent like gay visual artist Christopher Lee Sauve.
The 16 backpacks will be put up for auction on World AIDS Day (December 1st), and all proceeds will go to Designer Against AIDS, an organization that sets up and promotes projects to raise awareness for HIV/AIDS and help stop the spread of the disease around the world.
Pick your favorite, and start bidding at ArtistStudio.Eastpak.com on December 1st. The auction ends December 21, at 12PM (CET). The starting price for each backpack is $100.
