How times flies! Candy, the first fashion publication dedicated to the trans community, is already five years old. To celebrate its anniversary, editor-in-chief Luis Venegas (who also gave us the sexy teenzie EY!) has unveiled his most ambitious issue yet.
The cover is a Vanity Vair-style gatefold featuring 14 of the most noteworthy transgender women today. Inside, a 62-page portfolio photographed by Mariano Vivanco and styled by Yasmine Sterea is putting a spotlight on each of these fabulous ladies.
It's also the opportunity to catch up with some of our former Out100 honorees, such as new trans icons Laverne Cox and Janet Mock, and RuPaul's Drag Race alumn Carmen Carrera (as well as her drag mother, Carmen Xtravaganza, seen in the documentary Paris Is Burning). Also featured are House of Ladosha's Juliana Huxtable, model Isis King (the first trans woman to compete on America's Next Top Model), and Nicki M'Nray and Peche Di, who both appeared in Barneys New York's spring campaign.
