John said other books written about him "haven't exactly been truthful."
One of the most iconic musicians of all time is about to tell his story.
Oscar and Grammy-winning artist Elton John will release his autobiography in October, the iconic musician announced on Twitter.
“My life has been one helluva roller coaster ride and I’m now ready to tell you my story, in my own words. My first and only official autobiography will be released October 2019.

Pre-order at: https://t.co/Rr7Gge5r7b

#EltonJohnBook 📖”— Elton John (@Elton John) 1552068000
"I have a book coming out, which is my first autobiography," Elton says, while sitting in his favorite bookstore in London. "I can't wait for you to read it because it's the truth and so many books that have been written about me haven't exactly been truthful."
According to publishing house Macmillan's website, his autobiography comes out October 2019. The title and cover have not yet been released, but it is available for preorder -- in hardcover, paperback, and e-book -- through Macmillan.
John's book won't be the only story about his life being released this year. In May, the musical fantasy biopic Rocketman hits to theaters. John produced the film in which Taron Egerton is set to star. If Rami Malek won his Oscar for portraying bisexual rock icon Freddie Mercury, maybe Egerton can pull a repeat for playing queer music icon Elton John.
