Watch Lesbian Romcom 'Happiest Season's Funny, Sexy Holiday Trailer

Happiest SEason trailer

"Why are you in the closet?

Happiest Season is a hotly anticipated new lesbian holiday romantic comedy starring Kristen Stewart and Mackenzie Davis, and the trailer just dropped today! Happy Holigays to all of us!

The film is directed by actor and director Clea DuVall, who also co-wrote the script with Mary Holland, based on a story by DuVall. It follows Abby (Stewart), who was planning on proposing to her girlfriend Harper (Davis) at her family's annual Christmas dinner. But when she finds out that Harper hasn't come out to her family and has kept their relationship a secret, she begins to question the girlfriend she thought she knew.

The trailer starts with Abby excited to meet Harper's family over the holidays. "I just woke up thinking about going home with you and got VERY excited about Christmas," she says, "I get to go meet the people who made my favorite person."

Lesbian shenanegans begin when they arrive at Harper's family home and she introduces Abby as her straight, orphan, roommate. The couple stumbles and fumbles around trying to act straight with the help of Abby's friend, played by Schitt's Creek star Dan Levy.

The movie looks both hilarious and heartwarming, as Harper struggles to balance who she is with her love for her family. I'm sure queer women across America will be wiping away a tear while drinking hot cocoa with their loved ones while watching this.

DuVall and Stewart are queer royalty at this point, and Mackenzie Davis is 5'10", so lesbians across the country have been waiting on baited breath for this Christmas present to come.

The film also stars Alison Brie, Aubrey Plaza, Mary Holland, Burl Moseley, Victor Garber, and Mary Steenburgen. It has the distinction of being the first holiday film centering an LGBTQ+ couple, produced by a major studio.

Happiest Season debuts on Hulu November 25.
